I went to Jr high school with Haim. He was arrogant before his big break in LA, and even worse when he came back. He contributed nothing to Canada. If it were someone else who made Canada proud, i would gladly dole out some cash.
Where were MY taxes when my Grandfather a WW II Vet needed help? My Grandfather lived in Toronto before any of us or our parents were even born. He volunteered to fight overseas and gave another 40 years in service. Even with his laughable Air Force pension he could barely survive but he was frugal and never asked for a dime from anyone. When he got lung cancer (he was a non smoker but exposed to radar and other dangerous things in the military) the hidden costs OHIP doesnt cover, my family covered. We payed for his funeral. He was a hero, Haim was a bum, not a Canadian. Im sorry Judy has cancer, but her family living in upscale THORNHILL can help her and her late son out. I am a Canadian tax payer and never asked for one red cent when i was stuck in the US and had to have an emergency c section, that is $22,000 USD folks. All i wanted to do was visit my husband for a week who was on business, and went into premature labour, but my fault for leaving the country, so it was MY bill to pay and not my fellow taxpayers. So i guess now Mrs Haim a non resident of Canada will come back for free health care treatment after fleeing her homeland for the U.S, nice. How much overtime do i have to work for this? Dont call me heartless, just one who makes rational decisions and takes responsibility for my choices and actions. They chose to live in the U.S so i do not understand why we have to pay for their CHOICE to live in the U.S.
Instead of living the dream of trying to bring back his career, his friends and family should have focused their energy into his rehab.
If you think i am heartless, i am sorry. But i have seen enough heartache from fellow tax paying Canadian residents who work for minimum wage and never ask for hand outs. I am appauled the city of Toronto is even giving a dime.
